Amine gassing for Cold-Box core production
- In 2025, KLANN developed its own amine gassing unit for high-volume production of valve castings. The units are designed for core volumes of up to 25 litres and complement Cold-Box core shooting machines and core belters.
- A proportional pressure valve allows the gassing pressure to be set for each core box. Level monitoring with advance warning and empty indication is included as standard, even when using the manufacturer’s original containers.
- A Siemens ET-Box provides a digital connection to the core shooting machine control system. Parameters can then be displayed directly on the machine’s operator interface.
Heating power and supply
The units are available with 3 or 6 kW heating power. They can be supplied from a dedicated amine buffer tank or the manufacturer’s original containers, such as 8-litre metal canisters.
The unit is controlled by the core shooting machine. Operating conditions, such as the current evaporator temperature and warning messages, are displayed on the gassing unit. Its compact design allows installation beside the machine.
Questions and answers
Which core-making process is the amine gassing unit designed for?
KLANN units are designed for Cold-Box core production. They were developed for high-volume production of valve castings with core volumes of up to 25 litres.
Which heating powers are available?
The units are available with 3 or 6 kW heating power. Supply can be provided from an amine buffer tank or suitable original containers.
Can the gassing unit be connected to the machine control system?
Yes. A Siemens ET-Box enables a digital connection to the core shooting machine control system. The gassing pressure can be set for each core box; operating conditions and warnings are displayed on the unit.
